Mystery at Indian Rocks Beach  A Story of Finding Love

This book came about from a recent vacation in Indian Rocks Beach FL. There were some quite interesting interactions that amazed the author and thus the real circumstances behind the Grandparent's characters that were used in this story, as well as special new friends.
This is the second 'Love' story by the author. His first, 'A Love Lost in Time' won an American Writers award. With the success of that one, this is another attempt at creating a wonderful story in a beautiful real setting utilizing well-known landmarks both in Indian Rocks Beach as well as the author's hometown of Erie, Pa.  If you are from either area, you will readily recognize the special locations as the characters interact in them within the storyline. Love is interesting. It takes many twists and turns with fate interacting to bring people together...just as in real life.
Excerpt:  "A.J. was still half asleep when his cell phone beeped. He was still recovering from this last spinal surgery. It was the eleventh month of a twelve-month recovery. "
"Coletta was in her dorm room alone, studying for one of her final exams when her cell phone buzzed on the corner of her desk.
I wonder who that could be? She thought.

She hesitated to answer it, debating whether to let it go to save while she finished reviewing this chapter. But, out of curiosity and need for a quick break, she picked it up.

"Mary suddenly speaks up, and says, “We know who she is.”

What did she just say? A.J. shouts in his mind. He about falls out of his chair."

Hey, I'm Talking to You!..GOD

This book has been requested by many readers over the years. With the final surgery in 2022 the outcome is that the pain and numbness had been relieved a great deal.
I review the many surgeries and how I finally understood and heard what GOD was trying to tell me. My eyes were opened to all of the gifts GOD provides for each of us. And, how Nature, Love, and Prayers can help transform oneself into a positive and grateful attitude.

EXCERPT:

I was driving home from work and I was admiring a particularly beautiful summer day with the clearest blue sky. There was nothing unusual about the street, path, direction, or time of day as this was the usual route for me. The line of traffic had stopped for a red light, I was about the 20th car back in line and was looking up at the sky through the open moon roof in my car sitting there admiring the day.
In an instant, I heard a loud bang and I blinked. Although, it must have been a long blink. When my eyes opened, I was trying to look out of the rear-view mirror to see what happened, but it was blocked. Odd, I thought, I wonder what is wrong
Then I realized that I was seeing my crumpled trunk lid in the rear-view mirror. In the next instant, when I tried to move in my seat, I felt a bee-like stinging all over my body. This cannot be good, I again thought to myself.

On my first attempt to waddle out to the patio, I finally heard within my mind and realized God speaking to me. This is for you. Pay attention. I am healing you. The Blue sky, the green of the trees and grass, and the melodic songs of the birds washed over me and lifted my soul.

V.I.C.T.O.R.I.A. Artificial? Intelligence The main book cover is still in edit.

This book is written as a companion follow-up story to A.I.D.E.N.N.
Using current Android Robotic developments this story completes the saga from AI.D.E.N.N. as to what these special class and extremely intelligent androids could accomplish. The question for the reader is if you can accept this advancement in A.I. and if you perceive this technology as a help or threat to mankind.

Excerpt:

Who is the intelligent one? Have you thought of that?

"The Android’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the entry of the scientist into the room. It had heard the familiar gate and weight of the approaching human’s footsteps which was confirmed when the electronic eye also sensed the human form and automatically decoded the ID tag of the person wearing it, allowing the whoosh of the opening door into this hyper-clean assembly room.

The cover is Blue Jay feathers which is appropriate due to the animal stories within.

Excerpt:

“You know this is my food,” the Dog said to the Cat, who just kept staring at his bowl filled with fresh food. Both of their food and water bowls had just been refreshed.

The Cat just stared at him. Tilting his head, first to the right and then to the left, always keeping the Dog’s bowl of food within the perimeter of its vision in case the Dog looked away.

The Dog looked up at the human for help in hopes that the human would shoo the Cat away from its food.

The human did nothing and slowly walked away. Meanwhile, the Cat had already used its paw to scoop a few kernels of the Dog’s food out of the dish in the few seconds the Dog has looked at the human.

The Dog looked back down at the Cat, who sat, now staring at him, waiting to see if he had noticed the random pieces of food that were now scattered about the floor. The Dog did not. He just kept looking at the Cat, wondering what he would do next.

A Collection of Poems and Musings

Over many years spent recuperating after numerous surgeries and recoveries, the author was delegated to his
recliner for healing. Forced to sit quietly for an extended period, the author felt these words come without plan or forethought.

Feeling inspired by them, he has collected what he has written over many years and compiled it into this book.

The topics vary from Life to Seasons, to Love, to God. There are even a few thoughts (musings) thrown in for good measure.

This book presents the possibility that positivity and nature can provide healing observations comfort and solace to others who may suffer from either temporary or chronic pain. Or conditions of anxiety or trouble, where the mind needs to be quiet and contemplate the beauty that surrounds us all every day, and which can provide the therapy of healing mind, body, and spirit.

Excerpt:

 Happy Valentine's Day '21

SANCTUARY ISLAND

We are 500 ordinary people with a common belief that mankind is essentially good. We were hoping and planning against a few wingnuts destroying the world... All we knew at this moment was that the old President had set off a nuclear missile and then collapsed. We waited anxiously for what the new, first female President would do. She only had minutes...seconds. What would be our fate? What would be the fate of the world?

Excerpt:

"Suddenly the red triangle disappeared from the screen.
What they did not know was that the war head of the North Korean missile had released a toxic cloud of radioactive material into the atmosphere when it exploded."
"Excuse me, Madame President," the Marine Commander solemly interrupted. "I have just received a communique' from the White House staff. I regret to inform you that the President has just died."

SOUL SURVIVOR  *(So for my #1 Bestseller)

Joshua awoke in a hotel room unaware of who he was or where he was. Michael, a stranger, came to help him recall recent events and restore his memory.  The other information revealed to Joshua would have a profound effect on his life. What will Joshua do with the information received?
What would you do?

Excerpt:

"I tried to concentrate on the most common question at the moment which was, Where am I? And of course, the logical next question which was, How did I get here? So far I figured that I was in a hotel, but which one and what city still remained a mystery to me. No answers were immediately forthcoming. I closed my eyes again, leaning my head back on the chair's top cushion to cradle my neck and support my head, and tried to recall the last thing I remembered. It seemed difficult to do for some reason like it almost hurt. Finally, out of the depths of my subconsciousness, I had a flash memory of being on a plane."

GHOST COACH (Everyone's Favorite)
Jeremy daydreamed while making his delivery for Lakeshore Lumber. What happened next would not only be mysterious, but would eventually affect his future and the future of his hometown and everyone who came to know him. The truck took on a “life” of its’ own, or at least was affected by someone who seemed to always be close by in the shadows.
Who was “Lizzy?” wondered Jeremy, as he read the mysterious letter he had just found in the glove box of the old truck.
Excerpts:
"The heavy coating of dirt and dust from years of storage seemed to have faded it so much that he could not be sure of the color. Especially in this darkened relic of a makeshift garage. Yet, he could still barely make out the flames and skulls that seemed to float rearwards from the "frenched"  headlight in the fender.
"Do you have enough gas to get home?” She asked as she turned her head towards his truck. At that moment she dropped his plate on the floor, and it shattered into tiny fragments.“What’s wrong!?” asked Jeremy in surprise.
“Where did you get that truck from?” she asked obviously in a shocked state while clutching at her chest.“That is quite a story,” replied Jeremy as he noticed her staring out the window, not able to take her eyes off his truck. With short shallow breaths, she managed to say to him, “Is that Scotty Mitchell’s truck?

TERRAGON  Star Date 2050 *2022 American Writers Finalist Award

This is the author's first foray into Science fiction. Although a favorite reading topic in his youth its content only recently came to fruition.

The mission, or as it was explained to Gavin would provide valuable new resources for the energy that Earth so desperately needed once the rich nations finally understood the need to share the basic necessities of life and the knowledge to sustain them with the third-world countries. With this training and needed supplies came the same demands for power to generate the goods and services now needed by an ever-growing world population that commanded the planet's resources and attention.

Excerpt:

"Gavin Blake was not sure what he saw outside the spacecraft window when he first opened the protective shield after he awoke from his hibernation after a five-year "nap." What was supposed to be Earth, had no reference in his mind as to what he was now viewing through the ship's porthole."

DANIELLE'S CHRISTMAS WISH (My first book)

Danielle’s wish was not so extraordinary. That her wish would be finally granted is what made this year a very special Christmas. Lives would unfold and grow as leaves on a tree in the springtime. A child’s wish would be granted, love would be found, and a town would become even better due to the lives that were lived in it. Your town could be the same. Your wish could be granted. Your love could endure and benefit those all around you. Enter the town of Woodcreek and enjoy its beauty.

Excerpt:

"Danielle would watch through her window and wait for the extra big snowflakes to land on her windowpane. She leaned in and studied them as they slowly melted, but not before she could make out the intricate pattern of lace in each one. She wondered how God could make them so special and then just let them melt into a drip of water which slowly slid down the pane of glass to join the others already turned into a pool of water at the base of the window."

Excerpt:

"Every verbal command was met with no resistance. Each part functioned as designed and even though there was no communication back from the unit either from the computers or by any verbal sound, time in the laboratory passed quickly with the instructions and teaching as best as the doctor could provide.
Then one evening when working late in the shop the unit looks right at him and asks, “What am I?” Shocked, he stopped what he was doing and looked up slowly at the unit, and before answering he held his thought for a moment and then replied, “You are my friend."

HOW DOES GOD COMMUNICATE TO US?

This is a Bible reference book created from a Sunday school lesson taught in my local church.
It was a great lesson and one that should prove meaningful to all.
Each chapter has a 1-2 page summary of what the communication is which is ( such as Spoken, Dreams, Angels, Prophets, Bible, Spirit, etc.) followed by Bible verses supporting each type of communication.

WALTER & FLASH Note - This story is now part of the new book - "A Collection of Short Stories."
This book is based upon the author's encounter with a blind man whom he met at an airport one day. Some of the details of this very unique man's life became the basis of this book.

Walter was a dishwasher at Gilletti’s Fine Italian restaurant. He was not blind all his life yet despite his so-called "handicap" he has found worth and joy in his job every day. The kids working at the same restaurant for the summer break come to understand life’s lessons and at the same time unknowingly gain solid work and life ethics from Walter. Even with their mocking, they will learn valuable lessons of life, love, and work, just from observing Walter, that will last them throughout their whole lives.

 Excerpt:
"Sometimes when they were by themselves the young employees would comment why he worked so hard and did such a good job. “He only makes minimum wage” they would say. ”Why does he have to be such a perfectionist?” But in their faces, as the summer wore on, you could eventually see the respect they began to have for him, even if they would not admit it to him directly."

SNOW ANGEL (Children's Story)
Nancy and her brother wondered why Christopher had not been at school for some time. When they later find out that he is sick, Nancy decides to try prayer through a Snow Angel she makes with her brother, as suggested by her Mother.
Nancy’s father does some amazing things with their Snow Angels and eventually their whole class is caught up in the power of the Snow Angel.

Excerpt:
"As the door closed behind them they stopped for a moment and just stood there saying nothing. They could see their breath and could just barely hear the chirp of a bird and the distant barking of a dog. The stilled hushness was amazing. The snowflakes were still coming down and sticking to their clothing and eyelashes. Michael was trying to catch them with his tongue.
“They don’t taste like anything,” he said.
“Shhhhhh,” replied Nancy, placing the snow-covered finger of one of her gloves to her lips. She still wanted to soak in the quietness before they started to walk with crunching steps in the snow."

Could you be the stranger who helped Jeremy?

When it was finally his turn, he placed the slippers on the counter and started to empty his pockets of all the change both he and his sister were able to find. He reached down deep to make sure he had every coin he could find out of his pockets and placed them all onto the counter."

THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY *
This Story is now part of the new book: "A Collection of Short Stories"
A Story of the First Christmas
Joshua was just as amazed as the rest of the town while they witnessed the miracle of the bright star glowing in the night sky. He knew he had to follow it to see what lay beneath. But he had obligations to his family. And although everyone wanted to see what this miracle was about, not all could go.
Joshua had a plan. He talked his father into helping the local Merchant Kaleeb, so that he could make the journey. Jeremy would discover the miracle of the star, bring honor to his family, and give one of the best gifts of all to the Christ child.

Excerpt:

But what would he play, thought Joshua? As the days unfolded into the next and some began to make their plans for the journey to Bethlehem, Joshua would go far into the fields away from the sheep when he found the time. He would begin to practice and beat his drum. His friends wondered where he was and why he wasn’t joining them in their stone-kicking game any longer. But Joshua was determined to teach himself a song that would be worthy of the new baby."
